Glædelig jul og godt nytår

Kirke og Film ønsker alle følgere, medlemmer og støtter en glædesrig jul og et godt nyt år. Hermed viderebringes også hilsner fra vor internationale paraply-organisation INTERFILM:

DEAR MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF INTERFILM,

A perfect family. Love, trust, two smart daughters, a tender father and a caring mother. “The seed of the sacred fig” could be a kind of Christmas film. It is quite the opposite and nevertheless an important and breathtaking masterpiece for this holy time of year. It is a close look into a society, awarded with the ecumenical jury award in Cannes 2024, that shows the longing for a world where mercy, hope, justice and a cry for freedom win over a religious and fear-driven abuse of power. Christmas tells us a story of hope where powerless people regain trust in God, in themselves to overcome fear and resignation. It is the story of a family and society that implodes, slowly and rapidly, where love is replaced by mistrust, justice by blind order.

In these days of injustice and destruction it is an orientation and a reminder of the values we share and find within and beyond ourselves and our societies. INTERFILM looks beyond the screen and points out to important films that should be seen. INTERFILM aims to discover, award and promote films that transform our world. In societies that are tired and at stake of threatening divisions we engage in the power of encounter and connectedness.
